In response to student demand, we have added to our course offerings POS 305 International Law and Organization. It will be taught by Todor Kolarov who will also teach EUR 301 EU Law and Institutions (which is WIC and carries 4 credit hours).
In the past, Prof. Kolarov worked at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and was a legal advisor at the US embassy in Sofia. He then chaired the Bulgarian commission tasked with seizing illegally acquired assets (a post he resigned a few weeks ago citing doubts about the commitment of the Bulgarian government to fighting organized crime and high-level corruption). He has broad expertise in international public and trade law, as well as EU law and policies.
POS majors who have chosen to comply with the old requirements can take any POS course at the 400 level in order to accumulate the 9 credit hours they need in that category. As noted earlier, they can have one non-POS designated course count as a POS topics course (from among EUR 405, ECO 310, and PHI 304).
